In The Garden Apartment by Katie Monkhouse for the 2025 San Francisco Decorator Showcase, and built by Jasper Montgomery, The Meticulous Contractor, elegance lives in the sharp details—from the soft radius corners and earth-toned palette punctuated with navy and light blues to the beautifully composed suite of bedroom, lounge, kitchen, and ensuite bath. Designed as a separate apartment, this space showcases how in-law apartment trim can quietly organize and elevate compact living.

Small Space, Full Impact

In compact apartments, every architectural move matters. And in this case, the design hinges on beautifully restrained trim that balances proportion, rhythm, and function. Muted moulding in a natural taupe wraps every transition—door casings, baseboards, crown profiles, and window surrounds—creating visual unity from room to room.
